Hennessy gives SA artists a chance to shine:
Three South African acts have been selected by a panel of judges for the final top 8 of the Hennessy Talent Quest. Now, they need the support of their fans to get them to Cognac. The artist with the most votes will win the opportunity to perform at the 2014 Blues Passions festival taking place in Cognac, France from the 30th June to the 6th July.
The three finalists Tresor Riziki ,Bongi Mvuyana and Muzart, stand a chance to perform at the 2014 Blues Passion Festival alongside artists Lily Allen, Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters,George Benson and Steven Seagal.
Tresor Riziki is an award winning and multi-platinum selling DRC born singer-songwriter, signed to Universal Music Publishing Group and currently based in South Africa. Tresor has played alongside the likes of Lira, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Freshly Ground. Tresor has been described as one of South Africa’s best song writing talent. Tresor was also a 2013 Talent Quest finalist.
Bongi Mvuyana is a South African alternative singer who is causing quite the stir in Africa. Her single, “I wonder”, has been playlisted on major South African national and regional radio stations including Metro FM, YFM and 2OceansVibe. “I wonder” has also been warmly welcomed across Africa, featuring on charts in four Nigerian radio stations. Bongi was named as one of the Women to Watch in 2014 on Grazia’s Cool List 2014.
Five-piece musical collective, Muzart, exploded onto the music scene in 2013 with their single “Jukebox”. Muzart’s take their musical influence from all spheres of music and artists, both old school and new school. Muzart have shared the stage with stars that include AKA, DJ Kent and Dr Malinga.
Talent Quest was launched in 2012 to celebrate the brand’s endless devotion to music, culture and live performance. Last year’s winner was Canadian, ColinResponse, who performed alongside internationally renowned artists Erykah Badu, Sinead O’Connor and Wyclef Jean.
